Exactly four years ago we were in Prague. But when we were buying tickets we completely forgot that 24's of December is the Christmas Eve. We lost our things in the hotel and went out to explore the streets and were surprised how empty there was. And then we realized what was happening, but understood the whole tragedy a little later, when we tried to find where we could eat. You should know, in Prague on the evening of December 24 there is nowhere to eat. Supermarkets, cafes, fast food are closed. Probably, on the most tourist streets you will find a snack bar for such poor people like us, but I doubt that you will like the quality of food and service, and most importantly the prices there. But it was very late to go to the center, but we were lucky, we saw the light from the MANI-MINI-MARKET signpost, it's a small supermarket that is open any time thanks to people from China, who make this business everywhere. We bought some food and went back to the hotel to cook something, thanks, we were renting a room with a kitchen.
Next day everything in Prague still was closed, and we were a little bit upset with it, but this, of course, is nonsense. We are dreaming to return to this magical city. No matter what time of the year. Take a walk along the embankments and the ancient quarters of the city, to spend some time in pub (if you don't like beer - in the Czech Republic it's not the same! By the way the food is very nice too), to buy some delicious straws with nuts and sugar, to visit again the A. Mucha Museum. Travel to other cities in the country, many are not inferior to Prague in its beauty.
I hope we will be back there.
So there are my memories about European Christmas.
